A Custom Video Wall to Promote Giving
INTRODUCTION:
A Heartfelt Mission
Hunterdon Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Hunterdon Health U Medical Center, plays a vital role in ensuring that the community has access to quality medical services. As Jenna Skillinge, Manager of Foundation Relations and Patient Ambassador, explains, “We are a small community hospital. We are able to provide medical services for communities and counties that otherwise would have to travel very far distances for even common things like X-rays and MRIs and checkups, things like that. So that’s really what we’re all about.”
In their pursuit of enhancing donor relations and communication, Hunterdon Health Foundation embarked on a project to create a digital donor wall in their lobby. This initiative aimed to not only recognize the generosity of donors but also to create a more engaging and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

THE CHALLENGE:
Navigating Complexity with Care
The project, however, was not without its complexities. As Jenna recounts, “We had a complicated situation.” Initially, Hunterdon Health Foundation sought a digital signage solution that would allow them to showcase donor recognition in a visually appealing and dynamic way. They envisioned a system that would feel personal and heartfelt, reflecting the foundation’s deep appreciation for its supporters.
However, a last-minute lobby renovation threw a curveball into the project, requiring significant changes to the design and implementation of the donor wall. This unexpected challenge created a sense of uncertainty and added pressure to an already important initiative.
THE ARREYA SOLUTION:
A Partnership Built on Understanding
In their search for a digital signage partner, Hunterdon Health Foundation sought a company that understood their values and would provide personalized support.
From the outset, Arreya distinguished itself by offering a refreshing approach. “Really other companies we looked at, we felt like when we met with them, they were running through their standard PowerPoint sales pitch. Our meeting with Todd, I felt like I really connected with him. He was nice. He was personable. And that really is representative of the whole experience of working with Todd. He was helpful and reliable,” Jenna explains.
“It was so nice to have a personal connection with the company. We felt like valued customers, not just another number.”
Arreya’s team demonstrated a deep commitment to understanding Hunterdon Health Foundation’s needs and adapting to their evolving circumstances. When the lobby renovation necessitated significant design changes, Arreya’s team went above and beyond to collaborate with the foundation’s interior designer and facilities team. “Marco and Todd came in the meetings with our interior designer, and even though we had already had a design and a rendering from you guys, they were really great on working with us and edit what we had to fit our lobby renovation,” Jenna recalls. “I mean that was amazing. I wouldn’t expect them to be so flexible in changing something that was pretty much already built and done. And they were awesome. They were totally willing to change things and offer solutions.”
This collaborative and flexible approach fostered a sense of trust and partnership, which was particularly important given the complexities of the project and the red tape often associated with healthcare environments. As Jenna notes, “There’s a lot of red tape in healthcare and that was really tough for us. And I think me also, this being my first project coming on the team, I was sort of learning that along the way. And they were just patient and understanding. And I’m not sure if we would have gotten that if we would have went with a larger company or a more corporate model.”

THE INSTALLATION:
A Seamless Experience
When it came time for the installation, Arreya’s team ensured a smooth and hassle-free process. “Way easier than I thought,” Jenna remarks. “I mean, I really thought it was going to be more of like a construction project in our hospital lobby. I was worried about noise. I was worried about, things getting in the way of our patients or being disruptive. And Josh and Grayson were amazing. They did such a great job. They were self-sufficient. I worked in an office down the hall from them, and they texted me a couple times when they needed things, but they were great. They took care of everything. It was so easy.”
THE IMPACT:
A Source of Pride and Connection
The result of this collaborative effort was a stunning digital donor wall that has been met with overwhelming praise. “Everybody loves it really,” Jenna exclaims. “We’ve gotten great feedback and our president, now he feels like the lobby renovation isn’t moving fast enough. Now we have this wall up, so now he’s trying to hurry everything else up to really make the big picture. But everyone has loved it.”
The donor wall has become a focal point in the hospital lobby, capturing the attention of patients, visitors, and staff alike. “It’s something to look at now in the lobby,” Jenna shares. “I know you guys haven’t been there, but it’s placed in a spot where there’s a lot of foot traffic. But a lot of positive feedback as people are coming through there.”

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the digital donor wall has also fostered a sense of pride and connection within the Hunterdon Health Foundation and the hospital community. “Our marketing team who is actually in the hospital are going to start collaborating with them and finding ways to include just regular hospital marketing on it along with our foundation communication,” Jenna explains. “So, it’s really good. Everybody’s enjoying it.”
A LASTING PARTNERSHIP:
Continued Support and Collaboration
Arreya’s commitment to Hunterdon Health Foundation extends beyond the initial installation. “Marco, I mean, he’s continuing to work with us on those design things and sort of some of that troubleshooting just with, the way the names are scrolling or the donor lists. He’s been great in helping us kind of work out all those details,” Jenna says.
This ongoing support and collaboration have solidified the partnership between Hunterdon Health Foundation and Arreya. “I think the biggest takeaway for me is we felt really supported along the way and we continue to feel supported by Arreya,” Jenna emphasizes. “So that’s really important.”
IN CONCLUSION:
The story of Hunterdon Health Foundation’s digital donor wall is a testament to the power of partnership, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to customer success. Arreya’s ability to understand their client’s needs, adapt to unexpected challenges, and provide ongoing support created a positive and rewarding experience. The resulting digital donor wall has not only enhanced the hospital’s lobby but has also become a powerful tool for donor recognition, community engagement, and internal communication. It stands as a symbol of the heartfelt connection between Hunterdon Health Foundation, its donors, and the community it serves.
